Gotta admit, just as this surprised the editors at Metal Injection, this was unknown to me, but I just found out that a founding member of Cannibal Corpse, guitarist Bob Rusey, has been a golf instructor ever since he was let go of the band in 1993 following the release of “Tomb of the Mutilated”.
Rusey is a member of the United States Golf Teachers Federation and has his own profile which states:
“In junior high school I had discovered "music" and the power and exhiliration of a live performance. Shortly after reaching high school, I was playing in a band and by graduation time I had signed with a major recording label and were were on our way.
In the course of eight years, we had put together three full-length albums and toured the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Canada several times and we were featured in the movie "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.”
Hehe, he doesn't mention the name of the band, I gotta feeling the students would keep an eye on him more so than on the golf ball.
