Led Zeppelin honoured by President Obama

US President Barack Obama personally handed British rock legends Led Zeppelin a prestigious award celebrating the band’s contribution to culture and the arts on Sunday night.

Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones received Kennedy Centre Honours at a special dinner at the White House, with Obama himself paying tribute to the Zep.

The president drew laughter from guests when he thanked the former band members for behaving themselves at the White House given their history of “hotel rooms being trashed and mayhem all around”.

Next up on Obama's list of legends to award? Uncle Ted Nugent.
